Additional Costs

a) Admission costs

b) Others costs.

  1. Meals for the entire term/semester: minimum of Ksh 150 per day for 80 days
  2. Accommodation-Termly-Minimum Ksh. 7,000/-Ksh13,500 for the term
  3. Caution Money is not charged
  4. Transport: Depending on where you stay
  5. Specific course requirements vary depending on course, e.g. Lab coats, apron
  6. Clothing
  7. Miscellaneous

c) Interpretation

  1. All the 2022 candidates must apply to be considered for any funding
  2. HELB/Government will categorize students according to level of need according to Means Testing Instrument.
  3. If not fully funded, the burden will be borne by parents or guardians.
  4. Government will fund through scholarships and loans
  5. Households/individuals will fund the deficit from government and loan funding
  6. The amount of scholarship awarded increases as the level of need increases
  7. The amount of loan awarded increases as the level of need reduces.
  8. Students / parents in the “less needy” and “needy” categories will have to pay at least Ksh. 13,438/= from their own pockets towards fees.
